Terms and Conditions
Before engaging in a high-risk activity, it is essential to understand and abide by the safety rules and guidelines outlined in the following documents. Failure to follow these precautions could result in severe accidents, potentially even fatal ones.
While the rental bikes are assessed by a mechanic before they are provided, it is crucial for your own safety to familiarise yourself with the eBike safety Checklist. See below…
Please be aware that as the hirer, you are responsible for the bike and all accompanying equipment. Consequently, any loss or damage to the bike or equipment will be your liability.
For identification purposes, each hirer must provide positive identification and a permanent address. It is necessary to bring a valid physical driving licence or passport and your own credit card, which will be used to take a deposit. Failure to present the required identification or payment for the deposit will result in the inability to hire a bike, and no refund will be provided.
As mentioned, to secure the rental, a deposit is required for each bike. The amount of this deposit will be £200 per booking. This deposit is refundable upon the safe return of the bike/bikes. To secure the deposit, we will pre-authorize the required amount on your credit card.
A pre-authorization charge, also known as a pre-auth or authorization hold, is a temporary hold placed on a customer's payment card. It's used to verify that the account is valid and has sufficient funds to cover a pending transaction, without actually debiting the cardholder's account upfront. Please be aware that this pre-authed amount of money can take between 5-7 business days to be released back into your account. Which is why we highly recommend using a credit card to pay the deposit. However, please note that as the hirer, you will be fully responsible for any additional costs incurred due to loss or damage beyond the deposit amount. Any damage to the bike will be charged at the cost price.
Our eBikes are available for full-day and half-day rentals only. To optimise your riding experience and preserve battery life, we strongly recommend keeping the e-bike riding mode in the lower numbers between 1 and 3. Use the higher riding mode numbers like 4 and 5 sparingly, primarily on extremely steep hills/trails, to reduce the risk of running out of power during your ride.
To ensure the security of the bikes, they should never be left unattended unless securely locked (Secure lock is provided). Overnight hire is not permitted, and all bikes must be returned to Electric Fury at the end of each day. Rental bikes are not permitted more than 6 miles outside of the Weymouth area.
The rental hours are from 09:30 am to 04:30 pm for full-day rentals. And half day rentals last 4 hours. They start at 09:30am OR 12:30pm. Payment for the rentals is taken on the day of booking through our online booking system. And any late returns will incur a charge of £5 for every 15 minutes of delay. Although we strive to keep the bike specifications as close to the displayed ones on our website as possible, we cannot guarantee an exact match. If there is a particular specification/feature you desire, please contact us at 01305 592986 to confirm its availability.
Cancellation of bike hire is subject to a cancellation charge, which varies based on the notice given to Electric Fury before the hire date. The cancellation notice period begins at midnight on the day you notify Electric Fury via email at electricfuryebikes@gmail.com.
If you notify Electric Fury within 48 hours of the scheduled eBike hire, you will be charged the full hire cost, and no refund will be provided. Furthermore, date transfers cannot be made within this 48-hour period.
For cancellations made between 1 week and 48 hours before the hire date, a 50% cancellation charge will be deducted from your refund. However, if the hired date is transferred, no cancellation charge will be applied.
Cancellations made more than 1 week before the date of the booked bicycles will not incur any charges. To ensure proper documentation, all cancellations must be made via email to electricfuryebikes@gmail.com.
For children aged 14 - 16 years, an accompanying adult must be present at all times, during the hiring process and whilst riding the eBikes. Failure to have an adult present will result in the inability to ride, and no refund will be issued. If a booking is made for a person under the age of 17, please inform Electric Fury immediately via email or telephone, specifying the accompanying adult. Please note that our smallest hire bike is suitable for individuals measuring 5ft and above.
Wearing helmets is mandatory, and a complimentary helmet is provided with every rental bike. If you have your own helmet that meets the required British Standard, you are welcome to use it. However, whether using your own or a hired helmet, it must always be worn while riding a rental bike.
